What is a co-payment? A copay is the fixed amount, per your insurance agreement, for a covered healthcare service.

What Is My Deductible? A deductible varies from person to person, based on their health plan they have chosen or have been opted into. This encompasses the out of pocket amount that you will pay for healthcare services before your insurance will pay for any other expenses.

What is co-insurance? A co-insurance is when there is a shared cost of a healthcare service. Usually, the amount is a percentage of the total allowed to be charged for any service(s) you receive. Individuals will begin paying their co-insurance after they have paid their specific deductible according to their plan agreement. What is the different between an in-network provider and an out-of-network provider? An in-network provider is any healthcare facility or medical transport service that have negotiated a discounted billing rate according to the health plan’s network. An out-of-network provider refers to all other services or facilities that are not a part of the network and have no negotiated or discounted rates available, per the plan agreement.

What is primary insurance? Primary insurance is the initial insurance that pays up to the specified limits according to the plan’s coverage parameters. What is secondary insurance? If primary insurance did not cover all initial costs, secondary insurance will occasionally cover the remaining balance. Keep in mind that the secondary insurance plan may or may not cover all of the remaining balance. Copays and any deductibles are still required to be met any time a secondary insurance plan is used. What will my specific insurance cover? Metro Care Ambulance LLC Will bill all private insurance. Whether or not your insurance will cover the bill is dependent on the policy that the individual has chosen or has been opted in to. What forms of payment does Metro Care Ambulance LLC accept?

Does Medicare cover ambulance or wheelchair transportation?  Medicare will pay for medical transportation under Medicare Part B, which usually covers ambulance transport into a hospital facility, rehab, or skilled nursing facility after hospital admission. If the individual was only seen in an ER and was not admitted into the hospital overnight, Medicare Part B will not cover transport from the hospital facility back to your private residence or to any physician’s office for an appointment. Wheelchair services are not considered to be medical transportation services, therefore, Medicare Part B will not pay for these services rendered by Metro Care Ambulance LLC.

Does Medicaid cover wheelchair transport or ambulance transport?  If you require non-emergent ambulance or wheelchair transport and are enrolled in Colorado Medicaid, all transportation must be ordered and scheduled through https://gointelliride.com/colorado/

I see ‘Novitas Solutions.’ What does this mean?  If ‘Novitas Solutions’ is present as a payer on your billing form, it means that Medicare has paid the maximum allowed portion on their behalf.
